On our recent trip, we had truly unforgettable experiences – we got to see our first European Cup! After a few weeks in Germany, we traveled south to Italy to spend yet more weeks of adventure. We decided to take Capri Tours while in Ischia, therefore realizing a dream of seeing the Grotta Azzurra, sometimes known as the Blue Grotto. This amazing, wonderful trip, was above my expectations. The sunlight shining through an underwater cavity reflects back upward through the sea, creating a mesmerizing blue glow that illuminates the cavern. Did you know Emperor Tiberius used the grotto as his own swimming hole and a marine temple during Roman times? This magical place truly felt like stepping into another world.
Bus is a means of access to the Grotta Azzurra; although the travel will be a little bumpy and a bit uncomfortable, or you can choose a scenic journey by water taxi or ordinary cab. Not far by is a beautiful beach with areas for cliff diving, which provides a fantastic way to pass the day. The Grotta Azzurra surrounds have something for everyone, whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation.
Since we stayed there for two days, we could enjoy both the afternoon and the nighttime, each with a unique mood and feel. Capri hums with activity during the day as over a thousand guests arrive from 8 to 9 in the morning till the boats depart at either 5 or 6 in the afternoon. Though Capri Town, also known as Capri Town, is a wonderful hub of activity and Anacapri is equally charming, the port itself doesn’t have much to offer.
Walking around Capri Town at night is fantastic, especially free from the tourist traffic. By the evening, most guests had left a quiet environment free of noise. If you want to really enjoy Capri’s tranquility, evening is the perfect time to visit.
I was not expecting how this place would awaken my inner child again. Although swimming inside the grotto is not allowed, it’s still worth it. The calm, cool, and peaceful atmosphere of the Blue Grotto will heal your tired soul and make you feel like you’re in an unreal place, inspiring me to explore more and more. It made me so eager to discover new experiences that I can’t wait to plan our next visit. This trip is another milestone I will treasure for my entire life.
If you truly want to appreciate Capri, I advise you to schedule your trip with a tour operator or travel designer to avoid wasting time and spoiling your Capri Tours. Although this location is fantastic, visiting can be challenging without prior knowledge of the surroundings.
While you’re in Capri, don’t miss the chance to visit Villa San Michele or take the lift up to Mount Solaro, the highest point on the island of Anacapri. At the summit, you can relax at a charming restaurant, savor a refreshing drink or snack, and soak in the panoramic views of the island. Keep in mind the lift may not be perfect for individuals with young children or a phobia of heights. Of course, a journey to Capri would not be complete without savoring a classic Lemon Sorbet or Granita, a cool delight to round out your stay.
